From a series made at Monet's garden in the spring at Giverny by the lake. The pond was looking lush with lots of new growth on the overhanging bushes and in the banks. I love the contrast of the transparent clear areas of the water and the dark shadows created by the tall bushes alongside. The hostas were in flower and added a flash of colour in the foreground to this verdant vision of spring. Full of textural detail on a sublime watercolour background.
Embroidery on water colour, with acid free mount surround and framed in light hard oak and museum quality glass. Framing executed by an awarded framer in south of Paris.
